To Vishu ~ with Love

 Dear Vishu,

Life is so easy and comfortable when everything isn’t chaotic, but at times chaos is exactly what we need in our lives. Chaos is that thunderstorm that comes so suddenly washes everything away. Everything that you were, everything you believed in and most importantly everything that made you who you are. It washes away everything and leaves behind a rainbow, a more beautiful version of you.

You were one of those kinds who planned almost everything in their lives. But you should always expect the unexpected. Life often throws you in the most unexpected situations when you least expect it. Who knew that coming to Bihar for some work would throw you in a situation where you land up getting married to a random girl you hadn’t even seen in your entire life!

A life without adventure and thrill becomes so monotonous and with time we find ourselves getting used to the monotony of our lives. ‘Rinku is a dangerous girl’ is what you thought. But the truth is that you were intimidated by the adventure, thrill, and unpredictability she brought with her. With her came all the adventure and enthusiasm that your life lacked.

The feeling of not knowing what to do, the feeling of utter cluelessness creeps in often when your mind and heart are not agreeing on one thing. Your heart longs for something that your mind will not permit. You often find yourself in the middle of a conflict within yourself. That’s what love does to you. You too found yourself in the middle of such a conflict before you realised you were falling for Rinku.

You often fall for those people you never imagined you could fall for. Love comes into your life like the moonlight on a pitch-dark night. And you get soaked in the moonlight like a sandy seashore gets soaked by the waves.

Love is like a rose; its charming fragrance will delude you from believing that it has thorns. Love has its own beautiful fragrance, but it also has its fair share of thorns, pain. Most people in love only want its fragrance but not the pain that comes with it. The thorns inevitably come along with the rose.

Love has various languages but yours was patience. And with that patience came pain. The pain of seeing your loved one in pain, the pain of not being able to help your loved one out of that pain, the pain of helplessness, pain that came with patience.

Your endurance, courage, care, and patience has redefined the concept of love in today’s times. Love may not always be about caring; it may be enduring the pain that came with patience. It may be about holding on to that pain patiently and waiting for things to fall in place. The idea of love that you had made me believe that pain is inevitable in love but also beautiful. Thank you for re-defining love and patience for me.

To Peter ~ with Love

Dear Peter Kavinsky, You always wanted people to look at you beyond your physical appearance, beyond your heart-warming smile, lushy hair and well-toned body. But this superficial world only saw you with their superficial eyes. It’s difficult for someone to actually see right through you especially today when the air around you is full of pretence and the people around you are always trying to be someone they are not. When the air itself is filled with pretence it is difficult to keep yourself real. At times even when you want to be real you can’t because the world is not very accepting towards those who dare to stand out. You often find yourself fighting with yourself when such conflicts arise in your mind. Its easy to get swayed and washed off by the waves of pretence and be a part of the ocean but being that rock that doesn’t get washed off by the waves takes a lot of courage. In the era of text messages, you fell for a ‘love letter’. You are so easily deceived to be the guy wh...

2nd April 2011 - A Memorable Date

2nd April 2011, A date that will always be etched in the memory of every Indian cricket lover. A day when the entire nation celebrated a festival irrespective of their religion. A day when the dreams of billions of Indians across the globe were fulfilled. A day when we brought home the trophy after 28 long years. It was the first time in the history of cricket that two Asian countries met each other at a World Cup final. The match was scheduled to be played at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. This World Cup Final was going to be Master Blaster Sachin's last world cup and it was also MS Dhoni's first ODI world cup final as a captain. I can recall what this day was like, 10 years back. A 10-year-old little girl anxiously sitting in front of the television with her hands folded and lips sealed. All she could understand about cricket were its basic rules. She only knew what a boundary and wicket meant. During the first innings of the 2011 World Cup Finale game, with every b...
